The Italian media have reacted to the price tag Manchester United have put on winger Alejandro Garnacho and it’s a figure Napoli won’t be prepared to pay, says Ciro Venerato.

In recent days the Argentina international has been linked with a move to the Serie A club as they look for a replacement for the soon to be departed Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Speaking to Area Napoli, Venerato, who is a specialist on Napoli, was asked about the possibility of the Manchester United attacker signing for the Italian side in this transfer window.

The RAI journalist talked about Napoli’s interest in the 20-year-old and said the player would cost €70m.

However, Venerato said Napoli aren’t prepared to pay such a transfer fee for the young attacker despite the money they’ll be getting from the sale of Kvaratskhelia to PSG.

“Manchester United through intermediaries has officially set the price of Garnacho. The Red Devils have asked DS Manna for €70m for the Gaucho. Offer not considered congruous and absolutely unacceptable. It is no coincidence that widespread pessimism has prevailed for days on the Argentine,” said Venerato.

With Kvaratskhelia on the verge of signing for PSG a number of wide attackers have been linked with a transfer to Napoli this month.

Garnacho has struggled to get starts for Manchester United in recent weeks and the new system has resulted in a lack of game time for him. This has led to speculation over his future at Old Trafford and the links to Napoli.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Timo Werner has also been linked with the Italian side after reports they are exploring the possibility of loaning the German until the end of the season.
