On Friday, we covered claims from the Dutch press that Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Ki-Jana Hoever has been offered to FC Twente.
It was also stated the Eredivisie side are having discussions with the 22-year-old’s agent over a potential deal this summer.
RTV Oost Sport journalist Tijmen van Wissing has now dismissed this claim, and insists that Twente have no interest in the Wolves player. He revealed this to De Oosttribune, and his comments are relayed by Twente Fans.
The journalist focuses his reporting on the Dutch club and Go Ahead Eagles. After claims of Twente’s interest in the defender emerged, he got in touch with their technical director, Arnold Bruggink, for an update.
Van Wissing has found out from the Eredivisie side’s official that they have no interest in the Wolves player, and haven’t held any discussions with him or his camp over a possible transfer.
“That also seemed to be a rumour that was fairly strong, but that turned out to be absolute nonsense. That is the defender who was tried for a while at PSV, and who mainly spent time in England. There has never been any contact,” he said.
Hoever spent the last 18 months on loan at Stoke City, after a short temporary spell at PSV Eindhoven. He has two years left on his deal, and Wolves have to make a decision on the Dutchman’s future in this window.
