Maurizio Sarri ‘will soon be announced’ as Chelsea manager, report Tuttosport, in a situation which feels like it’s been ongoing for months.
In Italy, the managerial switch is seen as a near certainty and the rumours have moved on to who Chelsea will sign this summer.
Tuttosport state ‘the Blues shopping has already begun’ and the first name on the list is again reported to be Gonzalo Higuain.
Sarri and Higuain did so well together at Napoli and that, added to the Argentina international recently revealing a desire to play in England, has been the basis for the rumours.
Tuttosport are already looking at who Juventus could sign if Higuain does go to Stamford Bridge, and Mauro Icardi and Alvaro Morata are candidates.
It’s claimed Juventus value Higuain at €55-60m and that’s ‘more or less’ what Roman Abramovich values Morata at.
Morata ‘cannot wait’ to return to Italy, and Higuain is ‘intrigued’ by the Premier League, and Tuttosport are talking up the players swapping clubs.
The whole basis of this would be Abramovich valuing Higuain and Morata at around the same figure, and whilst Tuttosport believe there’s something in that, it may be optimistic on behalf of Juventus given the Argentine turns 31 years of age this summer.
