On Thursday morning we covered claims from Bild that Denise Coates had blocked Kevin Wimmer’s loan exit from Stoke City to Hannover 96.
As we explained at the time, it seemed like the German newspaper had found out a female is in charge of Stoke and that she’s a billionaire who built a gambling business, and just felt compelled to write a story linking it all up.
Bild ended the article with: ‘Mrs. Coates is apparently ready to reconsider her rent-a-veto.’
That showed what a waste of time the whole thing had been. Stoke were blocking a loan at the start of the article and by the end of it they were reconsidering.
On Thursday afternoon the same German newspaper claims Wimmer has been spotted in Hannover and, according to their information, he’s about to have a medical and will complete a move to the Bundesliga club.
The initial deal will be a one year loan and Hannover will have a purchase option at the end of that period. It’s claimed he could even sign the paperwork today, or at the latest on Friday.
It’s a good job Bild got their essential Denise Coates article out of the way this morning.
