Lucas Perez is popping up all over the European rumour media at the moment, as his agent seems to be trying to find him a new club as quickly as possible.
Last summer Arsenal were put under pressure, a lot of it public, by the player’s representative to agree to a cut price loan to Deportivo La Coruna. That was the club of the player’s heart and the plan was he’d go there, be brilliant, and have a shot at getting in the Spain squad for the World Cup.
But Lucas wasn’t brilliant and the move was a disaster. Fans turned against him and Depor ended up getting relegated, so it’s unlikely he can continue there.
Valencia regional newspaper Super Deporte report there’s renewed interest from the club. It’s claimed the player’s agent met Valencia executives in London 10 days ago.
Why London? It’s not stated by Super Deporte, but Valencia’s owner Peter Lim does a lot of business in the city and it’s been reported several times he’s conducted transfer talks in England.
There’s been no contact since, but this one remains alive for Valencia, and it’s believed Arsenal will be easier to deal with this summer.
