Even without having many details, the Portuguese press continues to state that Marco Silva is very close to taking charge of Everton.

On Wednesday, it was newspaper O Jogo who was practically confirming the move, claiming that the talks were going well and making it sound like it was a matter of time for an agreement to be reached.

Silva is mentioned in several Portuguese newspapers today, although there’s only one who has exclusive claims about the chase, which is Diário de Notícias.

All they have to say is that the negotiations between club and manager are ‘very advanced’, also sounding very optimistic about the move.

Silva left Portugal in 2015, after being sacked by Sporting. Since then, he’s managed Olympiacos, Hull City and Watford.

So even though a move to a club like Everton gets some attention in the local press, it’s not like taking charge of a foreign club is something new for him.
