Tottenham Hotspur are now the latest Premier League club to be linked to Sporting wonderkid Rafael Leão.
After Manchester City and Manchester United, it’s Spurs who would be keeping an eye on the 18-year-old’s rise in Portugal, according to a report from Calcio Mercato today.
The Italian website actually doesn’t bring any details on the chase, despite reporting the interest for the player who has recently been promoted to Sporting’s first team.
Calcio Mercato claims that along with Tottenham, Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain are also in the race, but they don’t go any further than that on the details.
It’s actually strange to see this report coming from Italy. First because there isn’t any Italian club in the race, and also because we haven’t seen Spurs getting a mention in the Portuguese press.
But in case Mauricio Pochettino is really interested, he better know this wonderkid won’t be easy to get. Sporting will certainly try to hold him in every possible way, and the competition also looks pretty scary.
Tottenham could always pay his release clause… just the €45m.
