AS believe Real Madrid are being very reasonable indeed with Zinedine Zidane, and won’t force the Frenchman from his position. Whatever happens between now and the summer, the Spanish newspaper say Zidane will be able to decide his own destiny.
If he feels Real Madrid are best continuing under his stewardship then he’ll stay, but AS still believe replacements are being looked at. One of those, and the one most linked, is Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino, so of course he gets a mention.
Joining the Argentine in AS’s report are Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and German national team manager Joachim Low.
Pochettino is liked for his ‘philosophy’ and the ‘daring’ in his football, and AS believe Madrid are impressed with how the manager deals with his Tottenham squad.
Getting the most out of players such as Harry Kane has left a mark, and it’s thought he could deal with the big hitters at Madrid.
Klopp is a candidate because of his success at Borussia Dortmund, and the way he’s got Liverpool playing, with the 5-0 Porto victory picked out.
But it’s explained Liverpool have handed Klopp the ‘keys to the club’ and given him a level of control he’d be unlikely to get at Real Madrid.
Low is said to have been a long term target for Florentino Perez, but AS don’t sound too excited about that option.
