This week’s edition of SportBild has a feature on potential big Bundesliga transfers during the summer window. There’s some obvious names in there such as RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Leon Bailey.
Right at the end is room for Sebastien Haller, and that’s where Newcastle United and West Ham come into the picture.
Haller is a 23 year old striker, born in France he’s represented his country at all the youth levels and really came to prominence when he moved from Auxerre to FC Utrecht.
It was a surprise in the summer when Haller signed for Eintracht Frankfurt, after bigger (or at least richer) clubs had been linked for some time.
SportBild say Newcastle United, West Ham, and Inter Milan are keen on Haller ahead of the summer. As far as a potential price goes, Frankfurt won’t listen to anything under €30m, according to the German magazine.
Haller has 12 goals and 3 assists so far this season, with Frankfurt in 6th place in the Bundesliga.
West Ham seem to be on a continual, never-ending, search for a centre forward who can produce the goods regularly, and Newcastle United will have to look again if they can’t secure Islam Slimani in the summer.
