There’s stilll some insistence in Portugal that André Almeida continues to be a target for Leicester City in the January market.
Even though there seems to be no big developments in the Foxes’ chase for the right-back, local newspapers can’t forget the interest when talking about the player.
On Monday, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo has a story on the player’s absence from Benfica’s next game, due to a yellow card suspension.
They take the chance to say how good André Almeida’s season has been, since despite signing Douglas on a loan deal from Barcelona last summer, the Eagles saw that their youth product was actually better.
To conclude their story, O Jogo claims that André Almeida continues to attract interest from several clubs, and Leicester City are still trying to take him before the end of the transfer window.
Reports from Portugal have been saying that €15m is enough for the Foxes to find a deal, but for some reason, the negotiations don’t seem to have advanced so far.
