Diego Costa’s transfer from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid still isn’t completed, explain AS.
Atletico Madrid’s registration ban has meant the striker isn’t yet a fully fledged player at the club, despite being there since September and having already been officially unveiled, with the Spanish newspaper saying the paperwork is being submitted today.
Costa’s registration remains with Chelsea and it’s the Premier League club who need to help sanction the move, AS state, and that’s expected to happen ‘between today and tomorrow’.
AS price the transfer at €55m, and say Costa is very eager to play for Atletico, having been out of action since the summer.
It had been suggested in Spain that Chelsea could drag their feet and the Premier League registration switch end up being delayed a little, perhaps to get some revenge over the player after his big fall-out with Antonio Conte.
But now there doesn’t seem to be a great fear of that actually happening, even if it were possible.
Costa will register with Atletico, and be a new signing, joining Vitolo, who was signed from Sevilla and then loaned to Las Palmas.
