Despite excelling in Brazil for a couple of years now, Palmeiras defender Yerri Mina doesn’t getty many mentions when it comes to transfer rumours. And there’s a good reason for that.
Barcelona reportedly have a buying option for the Colombian international, so it’s never been really a secret that he’s expected to join the Camp Nou side soon.
Still, there were a couple of rumours here and there, with Leicester City and West Brom both linked to the player, who turned down both approaches dues to his wish to continue to develop in Brazil.
Now Italian website Calcio Mercato has a story which could favour Leicester, West Brom or whatever club who are still interested in the player.
They claim that although Barcelona have the €9m buying option, the player’s entourage say Palmeiras are free to sell Mina if they get an offer above that amount.
The defender has reportedly been watched by clubs from England, Italy and Germant, all interested in bringing him to Europe as soon as possible. It’s very likely that Mina would wait for Barcelona in case they really want to sign him, but if they take too long, maybe there will be a chance for these other sides.
It’s an outside chance for West Brom and Leicester City, but not completely dead.
