Massimo Cellino has an organisational problem at Brescia, report Corriere della Sera in their Tuesday edition. The problem is he’s dispensed with too many people and given himself too much control, something which will bring a chuckle to fans at Leeds United and Cagliari.
There’s only one man who can solve this. Yes, that’s of course former Leeds United sporting director Nicola Salerno.
Cellino is looking to get his old Elland Road gang back together, and is today holding a meeting in Milan with Salerno. Corriere della Sera state the former Leeds director was ‘summoned’ to Milan, although, strangely, they then also point out he was going there anyway for personal reasons.
It’s expected the meeting will lead to Salerno being given the job he’s been destined to get ever since rumours started of Cellino taking over at Brescia, even before he sold his Leeds United shares.
Salerno is described as a ‘Serie B specialist’ and will be tasked with getting Brescia up the table from their current 13th, and no doubt buying players for a series of managers who will come and go.
Meanwhile, Leeds United are living a relatively calm period.
