Over the past week or so, we’ve been keeping tabs on Giannelli Imbula’s situation at Toulouse, where the Stoke loanee has managed to dig himself a hole he’s struggling to get out of.
During a 0-0 draw against Metz, the Potters’ midfielder was taken off by his manager Pascal Dupraz, but instead of sitting down on the bench like he was meant to, he just walked straight down the tunnel.
Since then, Imbula hasn’t featured for Toulouse, and there’s a very good chance that could continue.
Speaking to the press on Friday ahead of his side’s clash against Lille on Saturday, and relayed by L’Equipe, Dupraz explained he still had time to decide on his team, and whether or not the Stoke loanee would feature.
Having left out of the 3-1 defeat to Dijon last weekend and the 2-1 loss to Nice midweek, a game against struggling Lille could be the perfect opportunity for him to bounce back from his miserable time.
However, that depends entirely on whether his manager feels he will provide the impact everyone thought he would bring over the summer when the Ligue 1 club managed to negotiate a deal to take him away from bet365 Stadium.
