There’s news coming up from Argentina saying Manchester United are interested in midfielder Luciano Cingolani.

Now as you’ve probably never heard of him, you may imagine that he’s a fancy player from a top club, but that’s not the case.

Cingolani is a youngster from Newell’s Old Boys, and is currently playing for the U16 levels, which is called Séptima Division in Argentina.

The information was brought by local TV Channel LT3, although it’s website El Dia who are covering it.

They explain Newell’s were quick dismissing the rumour, saying the Manchester United story started from the youngster’s father.

“The case of Cingolani is very particular because the father wanted to take him away, then he said he was going to bring an offer from Manchester United, but no offer came to the club,” said the Newell’s secretary José Menchón.

The official also claimed this could be related to another youngster who left the club to join league rivals Boca Juniors a while ago: “What happens is that after Castro, who went to Boca and we are about to agree a compensation, the hive was rattled.”

This is not the first time Manchester United are linked to a little known player in Argentina this season, as we’ve been following the case of Enzo Diaz lately.

But Cingolani’s case seems even more curious, as the player hasn’t even debuted for the first team yet, and would surely be an addition to Manchester United’s academy.
