Paris-Saint Germain are looking to sign a striker to support Edinson Cavani, and have identified the likes of Jese Rodriguez and Alexandre Lacazette.
The Parsian club are a bit reluctant about signing Lacazette, as Lyon are likely to demand a lot of money. New boss Unai Emery favours Jese Rodriguez, and also wanted him at Sevilla.
In fact, Emery confirmed in a press conference yesterday PSG’s intentions of signing Jese.
The Real Madrid striker has one year left on his contract, and is expected to leave the club, after the arrival of Alvaro Morata. Madrid are also said to be uneasy about Jese launching himself as a pop-star (see above image).
According to L’Equipe on Saturday, Real Madrid and Paris-Saint Germain are in negotiations for the striker, but his priority isn’t signing for the French champions.
L’Equipe say Jese prefers a move to England, and particularly to Liverpool. The Spaniard wants to leave Real Madrid to get more playing time, and feels it wouldn’t be any different at PSG.
Liverpool, at the moment, have plenty of attacking options, and it’s a bit difficult to understand why Jese feels he’d get more playing time at Liverpool.
The Merseyside club don’t play in any European competition next season, so it really doesn’t make much sense.
However, the fact that Jese might be available on a cheap could tempt Liverpool to make a bid for the player.
