Ronald Koeman wasn’t happy after his side’s 2-1 home loss to Lyon this week. Premier League woes once again carried on into the Europa League and Goodison Park was a cauldron of misery, anger, and ultimately failure.
After the match Koeman explained he wasn’t happy with decisions from the officials, specifically picking out Lyon’s Nabil Fekir as a player who should have action taken against him.
The Everton manager spoke to referee Bas Nijhuis directly, and in a surprising move, but perhaps one which should be repeated more often, the Dutch official has spoken to the media.
“He didn’t like that and then walked away. I just added time, no problem. He has to save his own back, but to blame the referee…”
Everton’s under pressure manager must know everything is currently against him if even referees are taking to the media and mocking him.
