Around a month ago Danish newspaper BT revealed Cardiff City had rejected a £17m offer from Brighton & Hove Albion for Kenneth Zohore.
It was stated Brighton had been very keen to sign the striker during the summer window, with Chris Hughton obviously believing he’d be worth such an offer.
Welsh sources then apparently downplayed such an offer being made to Cardiff, but the Danish press certainly aren’t prone to claiming such things a lot, which would make one believe there’s some truth in the Brighton claims.
In their Tuesday edition, BT say that after a less than spectacular start to the season, Zohore showed against Leeds United why Cardiff rejected big offers. Zohore’s two goal Leeds United performance underlined his ability to help Cardiff get automatic promotion.
If Zohore had been sold to Brighton then perhaps Cardiff would have been much richer, but would they be four points ahead of Leeds United? BT seem to think not.
