Anderson Talisca’s move to England keeps getting weirder and weirder.
It would be easy to put two and two together, but it’s a bit hard to believe that Liverpool or Wolves would be paying €25m (around £20m) for such an unproven player.
However, that’s what O Jogo have claimed in their Sunday edition. They say that a deal is done with both clubs, and Liverpool are the priority.
Benfica are reportedly now only waiting for the Football Association to give a response to the work permit request, and sort the final paperwork out. If the visa for the Liverpool move is denied, then the Brazilian would be joining Wolvers instead, as O Jogo believe the rules for the Championship are not so strict.
It’s worth pointing out here that those work permit claims appear to be absolute nonsense.
The deal with Wolves makes a bit more sense, since Jorge Mendes is the main agent who’s helping to build their new squad. But spending that much on this player is certainly something out of the club’s old reality.
According to O Jogo, the Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira has already told Talisca that the move to England is happening, he only needs to wait and see what will his next club be.
Deals agreed with both Liverpool and Wolves? If it’s true, then it’s understandable that Talisca has made an Anfield switch his priority.
