Stoke City are close to a deal which would see Giannelli Imbula leave the club before Thursday’s deadline.
Imbula has been linked with a Stoke City exit throughout the summer transfer window, but the finances of a deal have always proved a problem. Stoke haven’t been willing to take a big loss on Imbula, despite the player not being crucial for Mark Hughes.
The tough Potters line has seen a succession of potential suitors come and go for Imbula, which leaves him without a new club a couple of days before the deadline.
SFR report a transfer is close, after a potential Monaco move collapsed with the French principality club taking too long. Talks are underway for a loan from Stoke, and a decisive meeting will be held in the next 24 hours.
