Everton’s interest in William Carvalho is starting to get more serious in Portugal. After Record, it’s now A Bola who are reporting the Toffees’ will to sign the midfielder.
Although Record claimed that Everton would like to spend up to €20m in the player, A Bola don’t say a word about how much the Merseyside club would like to pay. The 24-year-old has a €45m release clause.
There’s also a clause in Carvalho’s contract which means that if Sporting reject a bigger offer than €35m, they need to pay the player an amount of €5m.
According to A Bola, Everton are pretty aware they’d need to make a very tempting offer to sign the player. Carvalho himself already knows how much the English side want to pay him, and the wages are much better than at Sporting.
The newspaper also mentions that Carvalho was linked to a move to Juventus in the past few days. However, they claim that the Old Lady still haven’t contacted Sporting to know the conditions for the transfer, so Everton should have a clear run for now.
