On Sunday, Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo brought Crystal Palace into the picture for Munir.
Barcelona continue with their efforts to sell the player, and those efforts continue to be frustrated.
There was Spanish interest from Alaves and Deportivo La Coruna, with Crystal Palace and Sampdoria being the non-La Liga interest presented. Mundo Deportivo pointed out Barcelona’s €20m asking price would have to be ‘considerably lower’ for the Spanish clubs to stand a chance.
It seems the €20m figure will have to lower anyway. Wednesday’s edition of Marca mentions English interest again, but it’s stated that none of the clubs linked have been willing to match the €20m.
If Crystal Palace interest was genuine, and if they were prepared to pay €20m, that would be pretty much job done.
Marca illustrate how lofty the €20m price is by saying Valencia turned up their €12m option to sign Munir at the end of his loan earlier this summer.
Now the best Barcelona can hope for is a cheaper sale or a loan with a buying clause.
