L’Equipe have relaunched the Jean-Michaël Seri to Arsenal transfer rumour in their Wednesday edition, which may be welcome for some of the club’s fans.
Seri had an excellent season at Nice last time around and it’s a surprise there’s not been greater interest in the player.
Each week during the season, L’Equipe give players a rating, and for the past campaign, Seri was the most highly rated midfielder in France, which is quite something.
Nice have agreed to let the player go for €40m, which is something AS Roma couldn’t get close to.
That fee seemed on the high side at the beginning of the summer, if only because Seri’s profile isn’t so high, but the more weeks have passed, the more tempting it may be for Arsenal and others.
L’Equipe say ‘above all’, Arsenal are keen on the player, and have ‘real interest’.
It’s the same kind of thing which pops up every couple of weeks or so, but if Arsene Wenger wants to do something with that interest it’ll cost €40m, or pretty close to it.
