Fotomac have reported Trabzonspor are considering signing Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva. The Brazilian has an extra year left on his Liverpool contract, but will likely be allowed to leave if he finds a good destination.

Jurgen Klopp kept Lucas at Liverpool last season because he felt the squad needed the Brazilian’s versatility, and he may feel the same way if Lucas is still around as next season starts.

It’s been reported Trabzonspor manager Ersun Yanal wants the Liverpool veteran, as they look to mount a title challenge. Trabzonspor have given agent Ahmet Bulut authorisation to negotiate a deal on their behalf, and that letter of authorisation has been leaked.

Lucas is currently the longest serving Liverpool player.

The South American has played 346 games for Liverpool, scoring 7 goals, and many fans now feel he’s at the stage that Klopp should be looking to move on rather than rely on the 30 year old.
