Bought from Saint-Étienne last summer, Franck Tabanou didn’t exactly have the impact many expected him to, and the player was swiftly sent back to his former club on loan for the second half of the season.
Playing a lot more in France, the defender said he would return to Swansea and try and establish himself, but this doesn’t seem to be an option for the club, who have apparently told him he is free to leave.
According to Mohamed Bouhafsi and RMC Sport, the player’s agent met with the Premier League club and it was established he would probably be leaving in the near future.
Tabanou wasn’t included in Swansea’s tour of the United States for pre-season, and this is because he is allegedly in advanced talks with Malaga in Spain, as well as another yet to be named Premier League side.
The player came close to rejoining Saint-Étienne on a season long loan (an agreement had been reached between the two clubs), but personal terms demands caused the move to fail.
RMC Sport expect this to be resolved within the next couple of weeks.
