Celtic are ‘in the running’ for Häcken’s Zeidane Inoussa and could rival ASSE Saint-Etienne for his signature.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Celtic are in the mix for the Swedish U21 international this month.

Their report is focused on the French side, explaining that they want to take advantage of the winter window to strengthen their options.

They particularly want to strengthen their forward line above all. That, according to FM’s information, has led to them targeting Inoussa.

The 22-year-old has three goals and three assists to his name this season, having only played six games in the UEFA Conference League qualification. He does, though, have nine goals and six assists in 29 games for them.

He has also managed four goals and two assists in the same number of games on loan at Real Murcia.

That’s enough to have drawn up interest from Saint Etienne and Celtic. The Scottish champions are described as being ‘in the running’ for him.

He’s one of several wingers to be linked with Brendan Rodgers’ side this month. The Hoops appear determined to add in that area, perhaps as a replacement for Luis Palma.

Now Inoussa can be added to the list, although they’ll have to make sure Saint Etienne don’t get there first.
