There was something quite comforting when Arthur Cabral was liked with West Ham United earlier this month, given how many times it has happened previously.

With a slight change in how they approach potential signings, for the moment the Hammers appear to have gone back to what they know and are looking at several signings they’ve tried in the past.

Presumably, that’s what saw them move for Cabral.

The 26-year-old has scored seven goals in 24 matches for Benfica so far this season. One of those goals came on Tuesday evening in a 3-1 victory over Farense.

Record take a look at the player in their Thursday edition and explain no offer has arrived which is remotely acceptable.

Both West Ham and Torino are keen, and both have offered loans with options, which could turn into obligations, for purchase.

The conditions which could turn the loans into permanent deals are thought to be too hard to achieve, basically they’re unrealistic. That’s why the proposals from both West Ham and Torino are seen as ‘far from convincing’ and have been dismissed.

Bologna are also keen but haven’t done anything about it yet.
