Paraguayan youngster Diego León has admitted his move to Manchester United seems like a dream.

The 17-year-old has been speaking to GEN in Paraguay, relayed by Versus, about his impending move to Manchester United.

He is expected to become the first signing of the Ruben Amorim era, with Manchester United moving to secure him from Cerro Porteño last month.

The youngster has this week been visiting his new club and undergoing formalities, with an announcement now expected.

It will be a big step up for him given his career so far has been the grand total of 19 appearances and 1642 minutes in total for Cerro Porteño.

That’s something he’s still working out, admitting the whole affair feels like a dream at this moment in time.

“You can’t even imagine the things that come to mind. It’s hard to think that all this is real, it seems like a dream, thank God everything is coming true for me,” he said when asked about Old Trafford.

The move to Manchester United will see him playing with international players, known all over the world.

He’s already been spotted conversing with his new teammates. Photos recently circulated on social media showing him meeting Argentina internationals Lisandro Martínez and Alejandro Garnacho.

That was another surprising moment for the young defender, who was left impressed by the humble nature of both.

“They are high quality; the truth is that they surprised me. Very humble on their part,” he added.

“Everything about Manchester surprised me, it seems like you’re in a movie. Thanks to perseverance, humility and my family, I am now where I am.

“There is no way to thank my family especially with words, words will not be enough to thank them.”
