Over the past few weeks, the Brazilian media have repeatedly discussed Palmeiras’ desire to sign Fulham’s Andreas Pereira in the winter market.

On Tuesday, Palmeiras president Leila Pereira confirmed they are keen on securing the 29-year-old’s services. She also insisted her side are in a rush and doing their best to close a deal for the midfielder.

Globo Esporte relay Leila Pereira’s comments and then provide their take on the Brazilian club’s interest in the Fulham player.

Palmeiras have already sent an offer of around €20m plus bonuses. The report states they are yet to hear from Marco Silva’s side but hope the move will go through eventually.

The winter market in England will close on February 3rd, while the one in Brazil closes at the end of next month.

Therefore, the South American club could even wait for the English window to close, to complete the move for Andreas Pereira. Palmeiras are not going away and will try to push to sign the Fulham player until the end of the Brazilian window.

The former Manchester United man has made 20 appearances for Fulham this season.
