It has been widely reported in Italy that Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho is a target for Napoli, who are set to lose Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain.
Yesterday, there was talk that the Naples club’s sporting director Giovanni Manna had a meeting with Garnacho’s entourage in Barcelona.
More has been reported from Italy today. La Repubblica, as relayed by AreaNapoli, have stated that an ‘agreement can be found’ between Manchester United and Napoli for the Argentine on a loan deal with the obligation to buy for €40-50m.
It’s also stated the Argentina international has made it clear through his agents that he would be interested in playing for Napoli.
While La Repubblica seem optimistic about the move, Corriere dello Sport are not. They believe that Manchester United’s asking price of over €70m is a problem even if Garnacho would be interested in moving to the Italian giants.
Alfredo Pedulla, as relayed by CalcioNapoli24, is also less optimistic about the possibility of the winger’s move to Napoli. He has expressed doubts about whether the Red Devils are even interested in a sale or not, considering the uncertainties around the futures of Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee.
All of it suggests that La Repubblica are indeed being overconfident about the scenario and Garnacho is likely to stay at the Theatre of Dreams.
