There’s a claim in the Swedish media that Sheffield Wednesday and Luton Town are in contention to sign Elfsborg midfielder Timothy Ouma.
The 20-year-old is reportedly being followed by a number of clubs, including the two Championship sides.
Fotboll Direkt report on the latest developments regarding the future of Ouma and they say he’s not travelled to Spain for Elfsborg’s winter training camp due to transfer talks with other clubs.
The Swedish media outlet claim Brentford were showing interest in the Kenyan in September and now they’ve been joined by fellow English clubs, Luton Town and Sheffield Wednesday.
There are no indications whether Luton Town or Sheffield Wednesday are one of the clubs said to be in talks to sign Ouma.
It’s also reported any interested club wanting to sign the youngster will have to break the transfer record for a player being sold by Elfsborg. This is currently set at £3m, when Hakon Valdimarsson was transferred to Brentford last year.
Ouma has made five starts in Elfsborg’s six Europa League games this season and is contracted to the Allsvenskan club until December 2027.
