On Saturday, Gazzetta dello Sport had what is now becoming a daily big splash on AC Milan potentially signing Marcus Rashford from Manchester United.
The attacker has been edged towards the exit door at Old Trafford, and the Rossoneri are perhaps the club fighting hardest to sign him. They need to agree a deal on wages, and then hope Rashford chooses to move to the San Siro.
As part of that report, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Milan advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic had vouched for Rashford. Despite claims coming from the UK media questioning the player’s professionalism, Ibrahimovic was said to have assured those in charge at the Serie A club that Rashford would be a good fit.
Since then the former Sweden international has come out publicly to back his old Manchester United teammate, and his words would suggest Milan are serious about the transfer.
Gazzetta dello Sport quote Ibrahimovic as saying: “I played with him when he was young, today he is more of a man. He was already good at the time. He can play on the right, in the centre, on the left. He will play in all the positions.
“I don’t know if it will take much to convince him because Milan is one of the biggest clubs in the world. Everyone wants to play for Milan but it is a difficult operation. We haven’t spoken to him yet.”
There’s been no claims AC Milan have spoken to Marcus Rashford personally, but multiple claims they’ve spoken to those representing him.
