Borussia Dortmund have Brentford forward Kevin Schade ‘high on the list’ and have been interested in him for some time.

That’s according to journalist Patrick Berger, who reports that there has been an initial exchange with the player’s entourage but not between Dortmund and Brentford.

He reports that while Schade is a long-term option for Dortmund, Schade feels at home in England, particularly now he has settled into Thomas Frank’s side. He has six goals and three assists to his name so far.

A return to Germany would be an attractive option for the forward after spells with Cottbus and Freiburg earlier in his career.

It is, however, unlikely to be ‘feasible’ at this moment in time. That is because he has a contract until 2028, and his price tag is definitely not under €40m. Brentford paid €25m to sign him from Freiburg in July 2023. His current valuation is ‘significantly higher’ for the Bees, and they do not have a need to sell either.

Thus, a move to Dortmund is unlikely to be happening any time soon, even if last year’s Champions League finalists are long-term admirers of the Brentford man.
