Last year, Celtic’s Alexandro Bernabei was on loan at SC Internacional, and they have been negotiating with Brendan Rodgers’ side to buy him permanently.

Internacional vice-president José Olavo Bisol has stated the left-back wants to extend his stay with them.

Earlier this month, we covered claims from Brazil which stated Internacional have made an offer to Celtic. It was also said Bernabei’s agent Juan Cruz Oller travelled to Glasgow to negotiate his client’s exit from Celtic Park.

ESPN in Brazil state the 24-year-old’s time with the Scottish champions is set to come to an end soon.

They claim Internacional have ‘reached an agreement’ with Celtic to buy the Argentine on a permanent transfer on Thursday. They will pay €4.5m in fixed fee to Brendan Rodgers’ side, who could earn an additional €500,000 in bonuses.

ESPN add the fullback is expected to arrive in Brazil at the ‘beginning of next week’ to undergo medical tests and sign the contract with Internacional.

The Celtic player made 25 appearances for Internacional, managing three goals and five assists in the process. His performances have convinced the South American club to bet on him permanently in January.
