Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini remains a potential target for Arsenal, although he is more likely a summer transfer target than one for this month.
That’s according to La Repubblica, relayed by Giallorossa.net, who say the midfielder’s contacts with Arsenal ‘remain alive’.
Pellegrini has been struggling to find his best form for Roma for months, with a recent goal in the derby win over Lazio seen as a ‘liberation’ from his difficult last few months.
That was refreshing but the player’s future remains uncertain as his contract is expiring in 2026 and Roma are open to evaluating possible offers. They’re leaving their options open, according to La Repubblica, and it seems their strategy is pointed towards a sale at this point in time.
Contacts with Antonio Conte’s Napoli and Arsenal ‘remain alive’, with both clubs attracted by his ‘technical talent’. However, they are scenarios which are more likely for the summer when his contract would be deemed ‘less onerous’.
That potentially opens up the door for Inter Milan, who could include him in an exchange deal for Davide Frattesi if they can’t find a buyer at €40m.
It’s ifs and maybes for now but Arsenal are very much in the mix and seen as an option for Pellegrini, although more so in the summer.
