Eintracht Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller has insisted Manchester City are yet to contact them regarding Omar Marmoush and he will remain in their starting 11 for this weekend as a result.

Fussball Transfers cover comments from the Eintracht boss today after he was questioned about Marmoush in his pre-match press conference.

The striker is a hot topic once again after an impressive first half of the season that has seen him score 18 goals and register 12 assists in 24 games in all competitions to date.

Manchester City are believed to be pushing for a transfer this month as they look to add to Pep Guardiola’s squad this month and turn their season around.

A report earlier this week stated that Manchester City had already started talks with Marmoush’s entourage and he now only wanted to move to the Etihad. This was followed by a claim today that City believe a deal can be done for €50-60m. Frankfurt want €80m and have made that clear.

That same report insisted Manchester City were yet to make an official move for the striker and Toppmöller has echoed that, insisting that the Egyptian remains in his plans until they do.

“There is no contact between the clubs. Omar will be in the starting eleven on Saturday,” he said.

“He is having a lot of fun with the boys. Omar feels very comfortable in the group. There have been no signs that he is distracted.”
