On Tuesday, Newcastle United’s scout was in Lisbon to closely follow Sporting’s 1-0 win over FC Porto in the Portuguese League Cup.
A Bola have obtained the scouting list from the cup tie.
A Newcastle United representative was among those in attendance to look at potential signing options for the Magpies.
Sporting’s Geovany Quenda assisted Viktor Gyökeres’ winner in the second half and the duo would have impressed the Premier League side’s official.
Sporting defender Ousmane Diomande has been linked to Eddie Howe’s side for around a year and he will likely have been on the Newcastle official’s agenda.
The 21-year-old centre-back played the full 90 minutes against Porto and had a role in helping the Lions keep a clean sheet.
Newcastle could have also looked at some Porto players as they had their scout follow the Dragons’ clash against Arouca in September.
As well as Newcastle, there were scouts from 13 other clubs in attendance for yesterday’s cup tie, including officials from Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
