Wolverhampton Wanderers had a scout in attendance to follow Sporting’s 1-0 win over FC Porto on Tuesday.
That’s according to A Bola, and they have published the scouting list in today’s edition of the newspaper.
Wolves are mentioned as they sent an official to Sporting’s home stadium for their Portuguese League Cup clash against Porto.
Sporting star striker Viktor Gyökeres scored the only goal of the tie in the 56th minute and Geovany Quenda assisted it.
The newspaper claims Wolves were there to monitor ‘potential reinforcements’ for Vitor Pereira’s squad. It’s worth noting A Bola haven’t specified or suggested players that the English club were there to watch.
Vitor Pereira knows his country’s league very well and may look at that market to reinforce Wolves’ squad in the winter market. The manager will need new signings to help the club climb up the table and away from the danger they find themselves in.
It isn’t the first time the Premier League side have had a scout follow Porto’s fixtures this season. Last month, we covered claims from Portugal that a Wolves official followed the Dragons’ Europa League tie against FC Midtjylland in December.
Perhaps something is cooking with the help of uncle Jorge Mendes.
