Jake Clarke-Salter has had an injury ridden season for Queens Park Rangers. He did return to action against Preston North End at the weekend but the defender has been struggling calf injuries in this campaign.

He’s played just eight times in the Championship and while Steve Cook and Liam Morrison have filled in during his absence, it seems QPR are looking to move in for another central defender.

Tuttomercatoweb state that Carrarese centre-back Marco Imperiale is a target for the west London side and talks are underway between the two clubs.

The outlet state that there are ‘contacts in progress’ but QPR want to make a concrete move for the 25-year-old. The indication is that there is interest from other sides as well but it is the Hoops who have moved ahead in the race.

Imperiale has never played in the Serie A before and this is his first season in the Italian second tier.. Before that, the Italian had played over 150 times in Serie C.
