Everton are one of the clubs in the picture to sign Galatasaray’s Hakim Ziyech in the winter market.
That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who mention Everton when discussing Stade Rennais’ interest in the winger.
The 31-year-old is unhappy with his situation in Istanbul and has publicly expressed his desire to leave the club in January.
Stade Rennais are looking to make changes to their squad next month, by replacing some of their players with new faces.
The Ligue 1 side have included Ziyech’s name in their January target list for several weeks and the number of interested parties are growing after he announced he wants a transfer.
Villarreal, Real Sociedad and Girona are his suitors from Spain while there’s interest from the Premier League, ‘particularly’ from Everton.
Last Thursday, the Friedkin Group completed the takeover of the Toffees, and the report states the new owners wish to sign a new winger in January. The focus currently would be on the Morocco international and ‘discussions have already taken place’ between parties.
It’s not clear whether Sean Dyche’s side held talks with the player’s camp, Galatasaray or both.
Stade Rennais seem to be worried about losing Ziyech to Everton as Jeunes Footeux state growing interest would make it complicated for them to sign him.
