Alexander Isak has continued to shine for Newcastle United this season, with 10 goals in the Premier League this season.
The Sweden international scored a hat-trick in the Magpies’ 4-1 win over Ipswich Town at the weekend. It was his first hat-trick for Newcastle since joining them from Real Sociedad in August 2022.
The Newcastle player became the second Swede after Freddie Ljungberg [for Arsenal] to score a hat-trick in the Premier League.
After Newcastle’s win over Ipswich Town, Isak had a chat with Viaplay in Sweden and his comments are relayed by Hallands Nyheter. The 25-year-old didn’t contain his excitement when sharing his views on his latest feat.
“It feels really good. It’s been in the air for a while now, to get my first hat-trick for Newcastle. So, I’m super happy to have finally done it,” he said.
The frontman has taken his overall tally to 11 goals and four assists from 18 games in all competitions this season.
His deal lasts until 2028 and Isak stated last month that he isn’t concerned about reports linking him with a move away from Newcastle.
Eddie Howe’s side latest win has seen them climb to the seventh spot, a point behind sixth placed Manchester City and three behind fifth placed AFC Bournemouth.
