Dean Huijsen has started to make an impact at Bournemouth in the last few weeks.
He’s started the last three games in the Premier League and also scored his first goal for the club against Tottenham Hotspur.
While Huijsen’s start to life at Bournemouth was slow.his situation now looks much brighter under manager Andoni Iraola.
The centre-back, who arrived from Juventus in the summer, spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about his move to the Vitality Stadium and the decision to join the club.
He said: “Honestly, I never wanted to leave. It wasn’t my choice. During the first days of preparation at Continassa, the management and Thiago Motta told me that they needed to make money with my transfer and that I would have to find a solution.”
Speaking further, the 19-year-old revealed that he has no regrets about the move to Bournemouth and stated that sporting director Tiago Pinto was important for the transfer to go through.
“The sporting director Tiago Pinto had already signed me on loan to Roma last January and in the summer he convinced me to join him here by explaining Bournemouth’s ambitious project.”
“Everything he told me in July is happening. I have no regrets, on the contrary. I am increasingly happier at Bournemouth. And I am not surprised by our sixth place in the Premier League, we are a loose cannon.”
The teenager has every reason to be pleased about life at the South Coast of England, considering how often he is now featuring and the club’s position in the league.
