Arsenal are ‘opening’ to the idea of letting Jakub Kiwior leave on loan in the January transfer window, but that doesn’t make a move to Napoli simple to do.
That’s according to Corriere del Mezzogiorno, who report that the Arsenal man remains the favourite for Antonio Conte’s side as they eye reinforcements in the winter market.
They need to find a replacement for the injured Alessandro Buongiorno, who is set to be out for a month and leave a big hole in their defence during that period.
An incoming signing in January could help the situation and Arsenal’s Kiwior is the ‘most popular profile’ on the list at this moment in time. Napoli like that he can play at centre-back but be adapted to left back in particular.
Arsenal are also ‘opening’ to the idea of letting the Polish international leave on loan, albeit with an obligation to buy included.
However, it is not an easy task for Napoli to make ‘all the need coincide’ between what they can offer, what Arsenal wants, and the defender’s own contract demands. It appears there needs to be movement somewhere before they can really push.
A transfer for the defender is looking likelier, though, with Arsenal opening up to the idea of a loan move and clearing one obstacle out of the way.
