Jakub Kiwior was on the bench for Arsenal in their goalless draw against Everton at the weekend.
This came after he’d played in four games in a row, despite a general lack of involvement over the season.
The lack of game time had sparked interest from Italian sides and there’s been claims Napoli have already held talks with Kiwior’s entourage.
There is now an update on the situation and it seems as if Napoli’s approach is getting somewhere. Il Mattino, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, have reported that the Polish defender now wants to leave Arsenal.
He is said to have asked his agents to ‘find him a new team’ and the player’s entourage will be in Italy soon to have a meeting with Napoli.
The 24-year-old is represented by FairSport, who also manage Napoli’s Stanislav Lobotka. It remains to be seen if this aspect can play into the Italian giants’ advantage, but Antonio Conte is keen to sign Kiwior on a permanent basis.
There hasn’t been any indication about whether Arsenal would agree to sell the centre-back permanently or not, but this is a situation to keep an eye on.
