Filip Stevanović spent three years at Manchester City and left them for Lommel SK in the summer window.

The Citizens reportedly paid around €8m to sign him from FK Partizan in 2021 and Pep Guardiola didn’t offer him minutes with the first team.

Manchester City had sent the winger out on loan to SC Heerenveen, CD Santa Clara and RKC Waalwijk before selling him to the Belgian club.

The 22-year-old has been speaking to Het Belang van Limburg, explaining his view of those loan spells.

“Not all loan spells went equally well. But I don’t look at the past. You can’t change that anymore anyway,” he said.

The Serbian has expressed his desire to return to the Etihad at some point in the future to represent the English club’s senior team.

Manchester City are owned by the City Football Group, and they also own Lommel. The attacker is of the belief the two clubs having the same owners could make it easier for him to return to the Premier League side.

“Whether I ever want to play for Manchester City’s first team? That is indeed my big dream. I also believe it is possible. Playing for a team in the City Football Group is already a shortcut to one day playing for City,” Stevanović explained.

The former Manchester City man has played 178 minutes from five games for the second division Belgian side this season. An injury partly restricted Stevanović’s game time and he needs to impress on the pitch to fulfil his ‘big dream’.
