Hugo Bueno was limited to a substitute role at Wolverhampton Wanderers last season. In search of regular minutes, he joined Feyenoord on a loan deal in the summer transfer window.
The left-back has featured regularly for the Eredivisie side when available for selection and made 10 appearances so far.
He picked up a muscle injury in August that kept him on the sidelines for a month and the Wolves man hasn’t featured for Feyenoord since last month’s international break.
Feyenoord manager Brian Priske has now provided a positive update on the 22-year-old’s fitness and his comments are relayed by 1908.nl.
The Dutch club will take on Sparta Praha in the Champions League later today. Priske has confirmed Bueno and centre-back Gernot Trauner are both in contention for this tie.
“They are both available to play,” he said, and added Trauner could even start against Sparta Praha.
1908.nl state the Wolves man is unlikely to start today’s European clash but is expected to come off the bench.
Bueno regaining full fitness should also come as good news for the Premier League side ad the player’s progress. The Spaniard’s contract at Molineux lasts until 2028.
