Tottenham Hotspur are in the picture to sign Getafe’s Omar Alderete in the winter market, according to reports.

The La Liga side took the 27-year-old initially on loan from Hertha Berlin in 2022 and made his stay permanent the follow year.

Alderete has been a regular for the Spanish club and his performances have caught the attention of Tottenham.

According to D10 in Paraguay, the centre-back could move to the Premier League in the winter market.

They claim Spurs are in negotiations to secure the Paraguay international’s services. That’s all they have to say about the Premier League side’s interest in the defender, who has been an ‘undisputed starter’ for both club and country.

On Tuesday, Brighton & Hove Albion confirmed that Diego Gómez will arrive at The Amex from Inter Miami in January.

Antena 2 relay this news and state Gómez’s compatriot Alderete could also be on his way to England. They then report the Getafe player ‘would be signed’ by Ange Postecoglou’s side next month, sounding quite confident.

The report provides no further information about the transfer fee, or the deal Tottenham would be offering to Alderete.

It’s worth noting there isn’t anything concrete so far in Spain about Spurs’ interest in the South American.
