Manchester City ‘internally evaluating’ player’s situation – He’ll play if decision left up to him

Manchester City are ‘internally evaluating’ Savinho’s injury and whether he will play in the clash with Bournemouth on Saturday.

That’s according to journalist Rômulo Giacomin, who says the forward won’t need seven day to recover from the sprained right ankle picked up against Tottenham.

Savinho was stretchered off in Manchester City’s clash with Ange Postecoglou’s side in the EFL Cup in tears, leading to fears he had suffered a potential long-term injury.

A report from Brazil stated today that Manchester City had informed Brazil’s medical team that there was no significant damage, and scans had come back positive.

Pep Guardiola confirmed as much in his pre-match press conference on Friday, although he refused to state whether Savinho would make the 3pm clash at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Giacomin now reports that the Premier League champions are ‘internally evaluating’ whether Savinho will be a part of the clash with the Cherries or not. According to him, if the decision were up to the 20-year-old, he will play.

The good news is that the forward won’t need seven days to recover from what has now been determined to be a sprained ankle.

That’s put him back in contention for Manchester City’s injury hit squad and for Brazil in the upcoming international break.
