Crystal Palace midfielder Jefferson Lerma will be out for 3-4 weeks after suffering a 4-5cm tear in his hamstring.
That’s according to journalist Pipe Sierra, who reports that the 30-year-old will be missing the international break with Colombia as a result.
A report this week stated that Lerma’s injury had set off alarm bells in the national team, with Colombia’s coaching staff, led by manager Néstor Lorenzo, having contacted Crystal Palace to discover the extent of the injury.
That means he is set to be absent for the next 3-4 weeks and will be absent from Colombia’s group for the next international date. They’re set to take on Uruguay on 16 November and Ecuador and 19 November.
He will also be missing from Crystal Palace’s clash with Wolves on Saturday and will be a major doubt for the home game against Fulham on 9 November.
His absence will be a major blow for club and country, with Lerma establishing himself as a key player for both in recent years.
