Last month, we covered claims from Italy which stated Chelsea’s Carney Chukwuemeka could be an option for AC Milan in January.

It was also reported the Serie A side have to come up with a new strategy to secure his services, after failing to sign him in the summer.

Fast forward to end of October and Calciomercato provides the latest on Milan’s interest in the Chelsea player.

The Rossoneri are looking to bolster their midfield in the winter market and have the 21-year-old and Real Betis’ Johnny Cardoso as their targets.

It’s claimed the Englishman isn’t a priority but could become one if one of player ‘not trained in Italy’ [likely non-EU players] were to leave the San Siro.

Calciomercato say the Chelsea midfielder is the ‘real obsession’ of Milan technical director Geoffrey Moncada.

Chukwuemeka can be a ‘wildcard’ signing for Paulo Fonseca’s side. Moncada could make an attempt to sign him on a loan deal with an option to buy in January.

He struggled with injuries since joining the Blues from Aston Villa in 2022. This has partly restricted Chukwuemeka’s game time in the last two seasons. He’s been restricted to 27 minutes from two matches this season.
